I’ve been watching American Idol this season, which of course, reminds me of when one of Boston Party Machine’s singers was up on the A.I. stage.  Ashley Makailah Rodriguez was one of the “Top 24” contestants last year, and everyone in Boston Party Machine couldn’t have been prouder.  We were glued to the television whenever Ashley was on.  Six months prior, Ashley brought her “it” quality (as Simon Cowell put it) to Lynda and Kevin’s post wedding bash at the Dunes Club in Narragansett, RI.   Barbara Beckwith of Excelebrations was the event planner for this happy occasion.  Boston Party Machine’s jazz quartet warmed up for our 11 piece band, with Ashley shining amongst our four fabulous singers.  We knew that she had star quality at that event, and saw it further six months later on American Idol.  Ashley has since moved to LA to pursue her musical dreams.
