Boston Party Machine was honored to play for Anna and Chris’ wedding at historic Linden Place in Bristol, RI (www.lindenplace.org).
Both Anna and Chris are musicians, so the music was very important to them. The weather was perfect for their outdoor ceremony in the rose garden, especially with our classical guitarist playing in the background, as well as our jazz quartet under the tent for their cocktail hour (emphasis on Coltrane, as requested). And the reception in the Linden Place Ballroom was truly a blast, with its abundance of rich wood, exposed beam ceilings and large carriage house doors.
The music for the evening started off with Love That Dirty Water (Standells) followed by the jazz standard Ain’t Misbehavin’ (Fats Waller). Anna’s smile was radiant from start to finish. For their first dance, Anna and Chris selected the jazz standard, I’ve Got You Under My Skin (Frank Sinatra).
And for the cake cutting, they chose You Raise Me Up, which Josh Groban performed at Super bowl XXXVIII and at Oprah Winfrey’s 50th birthday.
BPM performed Daughters (John Mayer) for the Father/Daughter dance followed by How Sweet It Is (James Taylor) for the Mother/Son dance.
By the way…Rob has played with James Taylor on numerous occasions! BPM learned a few new songs at Anna and Chris’ request (Raise Your Glass by Pink and Sexy Mother$*&! by Prince), which were really fun to play and are now part of our repertoire. The musicians were vibing off the packed dance floor!
The very talented photographer Janet Moscarello (https://janetmoscarellophotography.com) captured the feel of the night in her photos. You can see both younger folk and grannies rocking out at this lovely venue on this special night Enjoy!
